New York: Wildfires and historic drought

Due to the ongoing wildfires in the Tri-State region, New York City has been experiencing poor air quality and a strong smoke smell. The fires, which broke out on Friday in Brooklyn, the Bronx, and nearby New Jersey, are occurring during a historic drought. A band of rain is currently moving across the region, bringing some relief. Photo via Twitter/@FDNY New York Fire Department.
